For Snobs Only

I, am a snob. There. I confessed. The truth is out.

I am not rude, discriminating, or dismissive of others.

I am, rather, selective.

Oh, but not in the way you might think.

You see, it’s not people of a lesser social status, a lower I.Q. or a shabby vehicle that I shun

Oh no. Not them.

It’s the game players. The fakes. The social phonies in this world.

They are everywhere. Especially off line.

Admittedly, you will find some creative fiction online. There are those bloggers who, due to an identity crises, find it necessary to “reinvent” themselves online (otherwise known as lying). Yet, even within these ranks, you will find plenty of self disclosure of the most personal sort–

That’s the nature of the internet. You see, anonymoty encourages revelation (sometimes accompanied by exaggeration).

And yet, alongside this immature practice of “mis-informing”, there co-exists the redeeming quality of freedom–as in, freedom to tell the whole truth, albeit peppered with fanciful thinking.

And, thankfully, there are more than a few bloggers who don’t feel the need to edit every thought for the sake of excitablility, sensationalism, or interest.

I call them, real bloggers.

These are the people who will tell you shameless trivia about themselves (most of it more information than you need or care to know), and yet within this tackiness, there lies a common commraderie– a sense of belonging to a set of others who talk to themselves, don’t dust high ledges, fall asleep with their clothing on and share a host of other bizarre mannerisms to numerous to mention.

True, there are very sick twisted people who blog innapropropriately about anything and everything.  This is weird.  And gross.

And it’s people like this who make the non-bloggers leary of ever beginning an online webblog.

Myself included.

The only way to win these people over to the merits of blogging, is to send them to a blog made my like-minded people who not only share their daily realities, but actually care about others experiences, and want to read about them.
